About Me

Picture
Maria Viveiros Ferreira
My name is Maria Viveiros Ferreira I reside in Berkley, Massachusetts with my husband, George, my children, Tyler, Lillie, and Aaron, and my 4 rescue doggies.
My passion is painting, but when I'm not painting, my hobbies also include gardening, baking, cooking, and taking my dogs for a walk at the beach.

How I started

I have always loved to paint; it doesn’t matter what it was. I started when we bought our first house in 1999 and everything needed to be painted, and found out very quickly how much my husband hated to paint. He blames me for his hate to paint because of my critiquing... lol
My business started in 2016 as Chalk Paint Charm, when I asked my husband for Annie Sloan chalk paint for Christmas so I could redo some pieces of furniture in my home. We went out shopping for her paints and walked out of the store $400 poorer. He could not believe we had spent that much money on 2 cans of paint, 2 cans of wax and a few brushes. I painted my first piece and it sold almost immediately, then the buyer’s mom wanted me to do a commission piece and I haven’t stopped painting since.
I asked my daughter to come up with a few names that I could use for my business and I really liked the name Chalk Paint Charm. At that time I was strictly using Annie Sloan chalk paints for furniture, but have since included the use of higher quality cabinet paint for kitchens. I believe in using only high quality products to achieve high quality results. Since, I have changed my business name to Everlasting Charm to focus more on the durability of my work, rather than the type of paint.
I work solo because I am very meticulous with my work and want to make sure everything gets done right the first time for my clients. My highest priority for my businesses is customer satisfaction and integrity.
I absolutely love what I do and love meeting new people. All of my clients have been a pleasure to work with and I’m looking forward to working with all future clients in transforming their kitchen or furniture.

My Process

My process starts with labelling and removing all of the cabinet doors and drawers.  I then thoroughly clean all of the cabinets.  Next, I sand everything down to bare wood. This ensures that the paint will not chip off easily. I then begin with two coats of primer, one bonding primer and one stain blocking primer.  This is followed by two to three coats of paint.  On an average kitchen, I typically spend four days at the client's house doing the boxes.  Doors are prepped and painted in the shop and are reinstalled within one and a half weeks.
